Web Server

To run Share360, you need a standard web server.

A web server is a computer that delivers (serves up) web pages. Every web server has an IP address and possibly a domain name. For example, if you enter the URL http://www.share360.com/index.html in your browser, this sends a request to the server whose domain name is share360.com. The server then fetches the page named index.html and sends it to your browser.

Since user access to Share360 is web-based, the system needs to be able to deliver information to users via web pages.

Any computer can be turned into a web server by installing server software and connecting the machine to the Internet. There are many web server software applications. We support the following web servers:

  • IIS 4.0/50 for Windows NT/2000/XP
  • Peer Web Services for Windows NT Workstation 4.0
  • Apache 1.3.2x for Linux (Kernel version: 2.2.x) and FreeBSD 4.x
  • Share360 Cybozu Web Server

If you do not have an active web server when you install Share360 Version 2 on a Windows machine, the Share360 Cybozu Web Server will be automatically installed.

For installation help for these Web servers, visit the Support Center > Reference > Web Server.

NOTE: This information is for your reference only. Cybozu provides this information in order to help you optimize your usage of Share360, but we do not support any technical systems except the Share360 software itself. For more details, we recommend you ask for professional consultation.
