1. Migration of Share360 from Windows to UNIX (Linux/FreeBSD) |
If you want to migrate your current Share360 Windows program and data to a UNIX (Linux/FreeBSD) server, here are the steps:
- Prepare for migration
- Backup Share360 data
- Download Share360 to your UNIX server
- Install Share360 on your UNIX server
- Migrate the original Share360 data to your UNIX server
- Check migration
You do not have to purchase another license because of the migration and may continue to use the original Share360 license.
The data being migrated should contain System Setting Information (Registration Key Information). Therefore, you do not have to reset the Registration Key.
-
Prepare for migration
Please check the directory in which the original Share360 is installed.
- Go to Admin Tools > General > Environment Variables.
- Note the value of Dir.
Reference: Environment Variable.
-
Data Backup
Please save backup files. Cybozu Corporation cannot be responsible for loss of data.
The value of Dir (which you confirmed in the step above) is the directory that contains the original Share360. Please save backup files of the following:
- Files in the data directory
- Files in the file directory
For details, please refer to the Admin Tools manual.
-
Download Share360 to the UNIX server
Download Share360 to your UNIX server.
Reference: Share360 version 1 Download center
-
Install Share360 on the UNIX server
Install Share360 on the UNIX server. Make note of the directory in which you installed Share360 for UNIX.
- For example: /var/www/cgi-bin/s360
-
Migrate the original Share360 data to the UNIX server
You should copy the Share360 data files from the Windows server to the UNIX server. If you transfer the files by FTP, please make sure to set it to binary mode.
Transfer the following files from the Windows server and put them in the same directory on the UNIX server. The owner of the files may have changed and you may or may not be able to access them. After the data migration, please confirm that the file owner on the UNIX server is the same user who activated the Web server.
- Files in the data directory
- Files in the file directory
For example:
- Directory in the Windows server : c:\InetPub\scripts\s360
- Directory in the UNIX server : /var/www/cgi-bin/s360
Transfer the files on the Windows server to the corresponding directory of the UNIX server as follows:
- c:\InetPub\scripts\s360\data to /var/www/cgi-bin/s360/data and
- c:\InetPub\scripts\s360\file to /var/www/cgi-bin/s360/file
-
Check migration
Access the Share360 URL on your UNIX server, and confirm that Share360 is working properly on the UNIX server and that the original Share360 data was migrated correctly.
After confirming that the migration was successfully executed, uninstall Share360 for Windows.
- In Windows, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
- Uninstall the original Share360.
Note: Before migrating, you may do a trial run of Share360 on your UNIX server. You may use two (2) copies of Share360 on the original Windows server and the new UNIX server temporarily during the migration process. After your migration process ends, you must delete one of the two sets of data. You cannot merge, synchronize or integrate data stored in the Share360 programs.
