If you have a standard Windows XP installation, IIS will not be installed. A web server is needed to run Share360, so you have two options:
- Install IIS
- Use the Cybozu Web Server
If you choose to install IIS, follow these instructions
1) Deactivate "Simple File Sharing"
- Go to Start menu --> Accessories --> Windows Explorer.
- From the Menu Bar, select [Tool] --> [Folder Options].
- Click View tag.
- Remove the check in the box next to [Use simple file sharing (recommended)]
2) Share scripts files
- At the C:\Inetput\Scripts folder, right-click [Properties].
- Click the Web Sharing tab.
- Move the check mark to Share this folder.
- Edit Alias screen will be displayed.
- At Application Permissions, check Executable includes scripts.
3) Change permissions of Set Scripts Directory
- At the C:\Inetput\Scripts folder, right-click [Properties].
- Click the [Security] tab.
- Click the [Add] button.
- At the Group and User Names column, enter [everyone] and then click [ok].
- Check [Full Control] for Everyone's permissions.
4) Permit IIS Anonymous Access
- Go to Start Menu --> Setting --> Administration Tools --> Internet Information Service.
- Under Web Site, click Open Default Web site.
- Right-click on Scripts and select [Properties].
- Click the [Directory Security] tab.
- Click [Edit] button for Anonymous Access and Authentication Control.
- Check Anonymous Access.
If your old data is displayed properly, the Web server and CGI are working well, but you may not have write permission. Please check your Web server permission setting on the virtual directory. In the initial settings, the full path to each directory should be set as follows:
- Home Directory: C:\InetPub\wwwroot
- Virtual Directory: C:\InetPub\scripts
You can confirm each access permission as follows:
- From Internet Service Manager, open the www Service Properties dialogue box.
- Read and Execute should be checked at Access for Home Directory and Virtual Directory.
- Go to Exploring, right-click Home Directory and Virtual Directory, and open Properties.....
- Make Permissions in the Security tab Everyone with Full Control.
- If it is not possible to set up "Everyone with Full Control," assign Full Control to IUSR_(machine name), which is an account for anonymous Internet access.
The root cause might be that the data was not transferred completely. This is a problem in transferring data between the Web server and browser, not in Share360. Please check if your situation corresponds to the following:
Other applications are operating on the server.
- Server operation speed may slow down because other applications are operating. (For example, a database or antivirus application may be operating on the server running Share360.)
- We recommend that you operate Share360 on a dedicated server.
Some applications are running on a client PC.
- An application such as an antivirus software may be running on the client machine.
- If you are using an antivirus application on your client PC, please refer to the manual of that application.
You access the Web server through a proxy server.
- You may have some problems if you access the Web server running Share360 through a proxy server.
- Please access directly to the server running Share360.
You use Windows 98 as a server.
If you run Share360 continuously on a Windows 98 server, we have confirmed that Share360 may not run properly. Because Windows 98 is a OS developed for stand-alone operation and does not have required features for a server OS, we do not recommend you use Windows 98 as a server OS.
In the operation below, you may use Windows 98 if you do the following:
- Do not run the server continuously.
- Turn on/off Windows 98 server every day.
Note: We do not guarantee stable operation if the above is not true. We recommend you use a server OS for more stability.
Please refer to the System Requirements of Share360.
You use WindowsNT WorkStation as a server.
- If the Cannot display the page or Too much access to Web site errors appear, the root cause might be the limitation of the number of uses to simultaneous access the system.
- We recommend you use Share360 on a Windows NT server or UNIX. Please refer to the System Requirements for Share360.
The version of Internet Explorer is before 5.00.2614.3400.
- When you access the Microsoft Web site, you may get the following message - Web page used on CGI cannot be browsed properly.
- You can update to the latest version of Internet Explorer from the Microsoft Web site. For details, contact Microsoft.
If you get this message after updating from Office 3 to Share360, it could be that there is no data file for Memos. Please confirm the following.
- Does "s360/data/circular.odb" exist under the installation directory?
- In case the data does not exist, please reinstall Share360.
Note: If you reinstall Share360, the data files of the other applications will not be replaced or deleted.
Please reinstall Memos using the following procedure.
- Delete Share360 from [Add/Remove Programs].
- Reboot the installer and install Share360 in the same directory as it was previously.
If you proceed as follows, the data file of Memos will be deleted.
- Overwrite all "/data" directory with Cybozu Office 3.
- Delete all data of Share360 and copy the data of Cybozu Office 3.
Please copy files or folders under the "data" or under the "file" one by one.
