What does group-exclusive mean?

Group-exclusive means only the appointed group will have access to the data. You can set up group-exclusive

How do I view a document without making changes/edits?

To simply view a document, click on the name of the file you want to view, and check Open this file from its current location.

If you do this, do not make edits. Edits should be made from a version of the file that is saved on your computer.

What is a group exclusive folder?

If you create a folder that is group exclusive, only the members of that group will see the folder or be able to add/edit files in that folder.

Group exclusive folders can only be set up at the Root Level of the folder hierarchy.

I'm trying to access a file in the Cabinet, but it won't open.

The file lock feature may be turned on while another user is editing the file. Share360 automatically turns on this function when a user accesses a file. Please wait until the other user is finished editing the file.

How do I delete a folder?

You can only delete a folder if it is empty. To do so, click on the folder you want to delete (in the left side index). Then click on Delete Folder.

How do I lock and edit a file?

To edit the locked file, you should make sure you have the latest version of the file on your hard drive.

1) Download the file from the Cabinet by clicking on the file name.

2) Go to your hard drive files and find the file you downloaded. Open the file to edit. Save your edits.

3) When you are finished editing your file, go back to Share360. From the Cabinet home page, go to the File Details page for the file you edited. The document should still be locked by you.

4) Click Update.

5) Browse to find the edited file. Add notes to the log letting other users know what changes you made.

6) Click Update. The new, edited version of the file is now in the cabinet, and it has been unlocked to let others edit if they choose.

I accidentally deleted a file. How can I recover it?

You can restore a file for a certain time period even if you accidentally delete it.

Note: The time period can be set from 1-10 days by the system administrator through Admin Tools - General Options.

Click the Folder Details for the folder that contained the file you want to restore.

Select a file from the Update Log.

Click Restore.

Where will my files be stored?

Files uploaded to the cabinet are stored on your webserver's filesystem in the following location:

Note that the name of the file on the webserver's filesystem is NOT the same as the name of the file when it was uploaded, or when it's presented to the user in the web interface. The filesystem name on the webserver is a unique number, with no extension, for example: 2784.
