What is the difference between the European and US format versions?

The US versions lists dates in mm/dd/yyyy format, and times in am/pm format, whereas the European Time/Date format version uses dd/mm/yyyy and 24-hour time format.

You can choose to use either version, and it is easy to migrate from one to the other at any time.

Is it possible to install Share360 products/applications in the same directory?

If you install multiple Share360 products/applications in the same directory, please use the same version and the same number of users for all products/applications. However, the exact same application cannot be installed in the same directory, even with the same version and the same number of users.

If you use different versions or applications with a different number of users, please use different directories. In this situation, the applications installed in different directories cannot be synchronized or merged.

Share360 does not support data replication, synchronization, or mirroring for several servers running Share360.

Which server OS should I use?

The following is the list of server OS's that Share360 currently supports:

We do not recommend you use Windows 98 as server OS because Windows 98 was not developed to be used continuously. If you use Share360 for a small number of users, use it infrequently, or turn off Windows 98 every day, it can be used. However, we cannot guarantee stable operation of Share360. If you currently use Windows 98, we advise you to operate Share360 in another server OS, such as Windows 2000, Windows NT, or UNIX for better performance and more stability.

Can I use Windows 98 as my server OS?

Although Windows 98 was not developed to be used continuously, if you use Office for a small number of users, use it infrequently, or turn off Windows 98 every day, Share360 should work fine on Windows 98.

However, we cannot guarantee a stable operation of Office. You may experience slow speed or server freezes. If you currently use Windows 98, we advise you to operate Share360 on another server OS, such as Windows 2000, Windows NT, or UNIX for better performance and more stability.

Can I access Share360 from a Macintosh?

Share360 can be accessed from a Macintosh if the server and client PC are connected over the TCP/IP network.

If you are not able to access Share360 from a Macintosh, the problem may be that the server name that is used for a Windows-specific naming system may be used for accessing purposes. In accessing from a Macintosh, please enter the IP address of the server on which Share360 is installed.

For example, if the IP address of the server running Share360 is 10.0.0.1, use the following to access Share360:

If all PCs are able to use the DNS name solution system, all PCs can be accessed by the same URL address. For details, please contact your network administrator.

We recommend Netscape Navigator as a browser on a Macintosh. We have confirmed that Internet Explorer for Macintosh Version sometimes does not work properly.

Why are you recommending 'few users up to 300 users'? Other products are claiming that they can serve multiple thousands of users.

Share360 is built upon the concept that collaboration is optimized with small groups of users. Information should be shared unit by unit in big companies, or as whole units in mid and small sized companies.

We believe that larger systems are actually less effective that smaller units, as discussions are more tempered, information is more vulnerable, and administration is much more difficult.

In fact, this is exactly the problem our customers have been facing. Share360 offers a new groupware concept, offering more streamlined applications accessible by groups within groups for targeted and specific information sharing and collaboration.
