This page will show you how to install IIS 5.0 if you use Windows 2000 Professional as the server OS.

Windows 2000 comes with IIS 5.0 as a standard. You can install IIS 5.0 from the Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components window within the Control Panel.

2 -	Before starting the installation

Please confirm if the following setting was completed before you will start installing IIS 5.0 in your server.

- You can log on to the Windows 2000 Server as Administrator.

3 -	Install IIS 5.0

(If you are running other web server software, please close them.)

Open Control Panel and click the icon of Add/Remove Programs.

Windows Components Wizard will be started.

Click the Add/Remove Windows Components button on the left

Check the box of Internet Information Service (IIS) and click Next button.

Thereafter, please follow instructions in the Wizard.

4 -	Finish the Installation and confirm its performance

The installation will be started. When the installation is finished, restart the system.

Open Administrative Tools at Control Panel and click Internet Services Manager .

Right-click Default Web Site and click Start.

Open http://localhost/iishelp/ from browser and if you see a product summary of IIS, it was successfully installed.
