If you want to migrate your current Office 4 Windows program to a UNIX (Linux) server, here are the steps:

• Prepare for migration
• Backup data
• Download a new Cybozu Office 4 UNIX version to your new Server
• Install a new Cybozu Office 4 UNIX version to your new Server
• Migrate the original data to your new Server
• Check migration

You do not have to purchase another license because of the migration and may continue using the original license.

The migrating data should contain System Settng Information (Registration Key Information), therefore, you do not have to reset the Registration Key.

1. Prepare for migration

   Please check in which directory the original Cybozu Office 4 is installed.

   • Go to System Setting > Environment Variables.
   • Note the value of Dir.

   Reference: Environment Variable.

2. Data Backup

   Please save backup files. Cybozu cannot be responsible for loss of data.

   The value of Dir. (which you confirmed in the step above) is the directory that contains the original Cybozu Office 4. Please save backup files of the following:

   • Files under data directory
   • Files under file directory

   For details, please refer to System Settings manual.

3. Download a new Cybozu Office 4 to the new Server

   Download a new copy of Cybozu Office 4 (UNIX version) to your UNIX box.

4. Install a new Cybozu Office 4 the UNIX Server

   Linux Installation manual the Cybozu Office 4 on the UNIX server. Take note of the directory in which you install your Cybozu Office 4.

   • For example: /var/www/cgi-bin/cb4

5. Migrate the original data to the UNIX Server

   You should copy the Data Files from the Window Server to the UNIX Server. If you transfer the files by FTP, please make sure to set it to binary mode.

   Transfer the following files from the Window server and put them in the same directory on the new Server. The owner of the files may have changed and you may or may not be able to access them. After the data migration, please confirm that the file owner on the UNIX Server is the user who activated the web server.

   • Files under data directory
   • Files under file directory

   For example:

   • Directory in the Windows server : c:\InetPub\scripts\cb4
   • Directory in the UNIX server : /var/www/cgi-bin/cb4

   Transfer the files on the Window server to the corresponding directory of the UNIX server as follows:

   • c:\InetPub\scripts\cb4\data to /var/www/cgi-bin/cb4 and
   • c:\InetPub\scripts\cb4\file to /var/www/cgi-bin/cb4

6. Check migration

   Access the URL that was set before, and confirm if the new Cybozu Office 4 is working properly on the new Server and the original data was migrated correctly.

   After confirming that the migration was successfully executed, uninstall the original Cybozu Office 4 (for Windows only).

   • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
   • Uninstall the original Cybozu Office 4.

   Note: Before migrating, you may do a trial run of Cybozu Office 4 on your new Server. You may use two (2) copies of Cybozu Office 4 on the original Server and the new Server temporarily during the migration process, but after your trial, you must delete one of the 2 sets of data. You cannot merge, synchronize or integrate data stored in the Cybozu Office 4 programs.
