2. Download and Run the Installer |
The first step in installing Office 4 is to run the installer.
-
Log in with administrator permission, and download the installer file from the download center. You can download the file from the Office 4 download center. Be sure to download the Windows version.

-
When you finish downloading the installer file for Windows, double-click it, which will start the Setup program. Follow the Setup directions as they appear from screen to screen.
-
Please read the User License Agreement and click Yes if you agree with it.
3. Enter a Company Name |
Enter a company name in the Installer. The company name entered becomes a password for the uninstallation process. Please enter carefully. When done, click Next.

4. Set Up the Home Directory |
You must set up a directory to be the home directory for your web server.
-
What is a Home Directory?
A home directory is the proper host directory of a web server, the directory reserved for files such as home page data files. It is also called a document root.
Usually, a home directory is at C:\InetPub\wwwroot. If you have chosen another drive, you must set up a virtual directory.
-
In the Home field, confirm the path of your home directory.

5. Set Up the Install Directory |
After setting up a home directory, you must set up an install (or destination) directory.
-

In the Choose Destination Location window, click Browse to select an install (destination) directory.
The default setting is C:\InetPub\scripts\cb4. You may choose to accept it.
-
When done, click Next.
6. Select Package Installation |
In this window, you are prompted to specify the type of setup you want.
-
Office 4 contains all applications in one archive. If you roll your mouse over each package listed, you will see a description of the applications included in each. We recommend you choose Cybozu Office Pack EX 4 and SOHO 4 in order to try all applications.

If you want to disable certain applications after installation, you can do so by changing the Module Activation Setting in the System Setting menu on the Cybozu Portal Page. For details, see Module Activation Setting.
7. Select Individual Applications to Install |
If you chose Custom on the previous screen, you will be prompted to select individual applications to install.
-
Check the boxes of the applications you want to use, then click Next.

Again, we recommend you install Cybozu Office 4 Pack EX on the previous screen to try the full suite of integrated applications. You can always disable individual applications after installation.
8. Confirm Your Selections |
In this window, simply review what you have chosen.
-
Please confirm the applications you selected in the previous steps. If you want to make a change, click Back to return to previous settings and make any necessary changes.

-
If you accept the settings, click Next. The installation process is complete.
9. Check Installation |
Now you should verify that the installation process was successful.
-
If you installed Office 4 in the common install directory: C:\InetPub\scripts\cb4
Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, etc.) and enter the following address:
http://(server IP address or name)/scripts/cb4/office.exe?
- For example (with IP address): http://10.0.0.1/scripts/cb4/office.exe?
- For example (with name): http://bozuman.co.jp/scripts/cb4/office.exe?
If you succeeded in accessing Office 4, you will see the login page. This is the access page you will send to all users, as this is the entry page to using Cybozu Office 4!
-
If you cannot see the login page, check the following:
- Spelling mistakes of the server host name, the directory path, or the file name.
- Be sure the install directory you specified was a CGI executable directory.
Try the URL again to see if you can see the login page.
-
If you did not install Office 4 in the default directory C:\InetPub\scripts\cb4, you may not be able to access the login page from the URL above.
Please read about the virtual directory to confirm settings.
10. Apply Initial Settings |
In order to get started with Office 4, you'll need to set up some basics before inviting all your users to use Office 4.
-
That's all! Enjoy your Office 4!
11. Add Applications |
From this window, you can select additional applications to use.
You can select additional applications you want to use by going to System Setting > Module Activation from the Cybozu Portal or the Login page.
