Migration - Linux to Windows

Did you install Cybozu Office 4 in the CGI Script executable directory?

Check that the software is installed in a directory that the Web server can see. This is usually under DocumentRoot (ex. c:/inepub) or any other virtual directory that the user has created. When you open IIS manager (Settings->Control Panel->Administration->IIS), you should be able to see these directories.

To make sure your scripts run, right click on the directory in which you installed Office. Click Properties; there should be a box in the first panel where you can specify the privilege of the directory. This should say Scripts and Executable as opposed to just Scripts. If so, you will be able to run the CGI script in that particular directory.

Can I migrate all files from Office 3 to Office 4?

You can use the files that were used in previous versions of Office.

Can I change the server, the OS or the Web server?

You can change servers, server OS's, and Web servers running Office 4 without informing Cybozu. Also, you don't need to take additional steps or pay any extra fees. Office can be used on Windows98/NT/2000, Solaris, or Linux.

How do I transfer Office 4 to another server?

Before transferring data, refer to File Directory of Cybozu Office 4.

Perform a backup. To be sure, refer to backup file.

Download the latest version of Office 4 in the server in which the data is transferred to.

Install to the new Office 4 server.

Transfer files that include Office 4 data. Copy all files in the "data" directory of the original server, and overwrite the "data" directory of the new server.

Make sure that no one is accessing the server, (either lock users out or stop the web server). Copy all files in the "file" direcotry of the original server, and overwrite the "file" directory of the new server. If you encouter an access denied error, some files might still be in use by one of your users. Double check the files in "Cabinet" and make sure no one has locked them.

Confirm whether Office runs properly through the new server. Uninstall/delete Office 4 in the original server.

After the transfer, sometimes the customized template files are not displayed properly because you may be using slightly different versions of Office 4 (if you have downloaded a minor release new version). Please transfer template files between the servers to ensure you are using the same versions of Office 4.

With UNIX, owners of the files are sometimes changed during data transfer; therefore, you may not be able to register/change data.

Confirm the "owner" as the user who is operating the web server. Note that the UNIX installer sets up an "owner" for the installed files of Office 4. After the transfer, the overwrite installation will set the "owner" automatically.

Can we integrate Office 4 files that are operated separately?

You cannot integrate Office 4 files that are operated separately. Each license of Office 4 is associated with one set of data. You may migrate from server to server, upgrade your product, change your OS, but you cannot integrate two sets of data from two Office 4 programs.
