If you are receiving an incomplete display of Office 4 or a server freeze, you must consider the following:
- If your server OS is Windows 98:
If you run Office 4 continuously on a Windows 98
server OS, we have confirmed it may not run properly.
Because Windows 98 is a OS developed for stand-alone
operation and is not recommended as a server, we
do not recommend you use Windows 98 for Office 4.
For the operation below, you may use Windows 98
but we do not guarantee the stable operation of
Office 4. If you need stability, we recommend you
use a server OS. In the following scenarios:
- Do not run the server continuously.
- Turn on/off the Windows 98 server every day.
Please read the system
requirements.
- Pages are displayed incompletely and, HTML source
is displayed on the page.
The reason images are displayed incompletely
may be because data was not transferred completely.
Data transfer is controlled between the web server
and the browser, therefore Office 4 cannot control
it. Check your environment with the following,
as these may affect performance.
- Other applications are operating on the server.
The server may be slow because other applications
are running. For example: A database or antivirus
application is working on the server on which
Office 4 operates.
For this reason, the data may not be completely
processed.
Consider operating Office 4 on a dedicated
server.
- Accessing the web server through a proxy server.
*You may have some problems depending on
environment if you are accessing through a
proxy server.
Please access
directly to the server in which Office
4 is installed.
- Using Windows 98 as a server OS.
Again, running Windows 98 as your server
may be causing problems.
Please read the system
requirements.
- Using Windows NT Workstation as a server OS.
* If you get the error message, "The
page cannot be displayed. Too much access
to the website," the root cause may be
access limitations on the Windows NT Workstation.
We recommend you operate Office 4 on the Windows
NT Server/2000, or UNIX. Please read the system
requirements.
- Your version of Internet Explorer is before
5.00.2614.3400.
* In accessing the Microsoft website, you
may get a message saying, "Web page used
on CGI cannot be displayed accurately."
You can update to the latest version of
Internet Explorer from Microsofts Website.
For details, contact Microsoft.
- Some other applications are running on the
client PC.
When an application such as an antivirus
application runs on the client machine, you
may encounter a slower performance.
If you are using an antivirus application,
refer to its manual.
