| Question 1. Are the client PCs and the Office 4 server connected over a TCP/IP network?
|
|
You must have TCP/IP protocol installed. Check for your OS as described below or ask your administrator.
- Windows NT:
- Open Control Panel and click Network icon. Go to
Protocols and confirm if TCP/IP is entered.
- Windows 98:
- Open Control Panel and click Network icon. Select
Network tab, confirm if TCP/IP >(Network Adapter
Name) exists.
- Windows 2000:
- Open Control Panel. Open Network and Dial.
Go to LAN, Properties button. If you can
browse Internet Protocol TCP/IP, your PC is connected
over TCP/IP.
- UNIX:
- IP address is set up in" /etc/hosts" file.
If your TCP/IP is not set up, for windows,
- Go to Properties of TCP/IP Protocol.
- Enter IP address.
For example: 10.0.0.1
- Start web server.
Enter IP address set up in 1 and access from browser.

For Windows, you can identify the IP address of the server as follows.

server IP address.
Through the Command Prompt:
On the server, go to Start > Program > Command Prompt.

Check the servers host name or IP address here. (If IP address is not set up yet, ask your network administrator.)
If the DHCP server is used (DHCP Enabled: Yes), you cannot use Office 4. Use a static IP address. For more details, ask your network administrator.

| Question 5. Can you browse the Portal Page?
|
|
To check if you can browse the Portal Page, try to
access Office with the server name running Office 4
or the IP address.
For example, if the server IP address is 10.0.0.1, try the following URLs in your browser:
- Windows: http://10.0.0.1/scripts/cb4/office.exe?
- UNIX: http://10.0.0.1/cgi-bin/cb4/office.cgi?
If the server name is bozuserver.cybozu.co.jp, try the following URLs in your browser:

- UNIX: http://bozuserver.cybozu.co.jp/cgi-bin/cb4/office.cgi?
|
| Question 6. Did you install Office 4 in the CGI script executable directory?
|
|
For almost every server there is a specific place where you should put your executable (for security reasons). The location is always web server specific and configurable.
For IIS, this location is usually c:\inetpub\scripts\.
If an IIS server is configured to use a different directory, the web administrator needs to configure IIS to recognize that directory to have executable privileges. This is done thru the IIS manager in one of the many options you have to set (scripts and executable) for that particular directory. Most people should/would not do this; experienced users should see Microsoft help for the specifics about CGI-bin directories.
If you cannot browse the Portal Page or edit data, etc., please go to After Installation Troubleshooting.
