out of blue. According to Mr. Das, "Cybozu came
up with high relevance on an Internet search using Excite's
search engine" while he was looking for the solution
to the web-based staff scheduling requirements and personnel
qualifications challenges KPMG was facing at that time.
Through a lot of email communications between him and
Cybozu, he was convinced to choose Cybozu Office as
the solution to meet the unsatisfied staff scheduling
needs at KPMG. |

kind of problems/challenges did KPMG have before implementing
Cybozu? |

"As you may imagine",
Mr. Das said, "the task of scheduling our professionals
was quite daunting.
Our administrative support people were responsible for
collecting the availability of each staff member, and
consolidating that information into a chart, which was
then sent out via e-mail. This
made the process of revising and sharing information
about the schedules very cumbersome."
Based on the situation he described, KPMG seemed to
have strong needs to implement a web-based staff scheduling
system as quickly and smoothly as possible as a part
of its existing nationwide Intranet. |

business unit is using Cybozu Office? |

The business unit currently
using Cybozu Office is called "Transaction Services",
Mr. Das said. "This group is part of the Assurance
practice of KPMG LLP. They help clients structure transactions
and perform due diligence. Transaction Service professionals
are called whenever a merger or acquisition is going
to take place in an organization." Considering
the nature of the jobs in this business unit, it seemed
to be highly critical for the professionals to be able
to check and update their schedules online through the
Intranet of KPMG.
He also mentioned that KPMG is "planning
to roll out Cybozu Office to three other practice areas
in phases." |

problems during the roll out? |

Mr. Das answered "We
had a minor problem with proxy settings in the browser
and setting permissions on certain directories. These
problems were very minor and were remedied almost immediately
via e-mail technical support."
Virtually, he did not have any obstacles implementing
Cybozu Office.
Since he had a chance to try Cybozu Office for 60 days
for free with no commitment, he was encouraged to give
it a try and evaluate it fully before suggesting Cybozu
Office to his manager. |

Mr. Das said, "Cybozu
products offer the functionality we need at a price
that's reasonable. Furthermore,

answered. "The primary jobs of the full-time administrator
are to populate the Address Book with the contact information
of each staff member and to input the staff's schedule
into the system. They also obtain everyone's resume,
post the documents on the server, and link them to the
Cybozu Address Book." |

nature of the product. The

According to Mr. Das,
"Cybozu products are mainly used by the end users
to view their schedules, check experience and background
of their peers, and to view/update resume experience
for now."
As the experience with Cybozu Office increases everyday,
other applications are expected to be utilized to better
satisfy their daily collaboration needs. |

Mr. Das said that "We
offered training to all end users by utilizing conference
calls, teleconferencing, and face to face demonstrations."
The fact that Cybozu Office did not need any formal
end user training helped KPMG implement the solution
to meet their scheduling needs more cost-effectively
and time-efficiently than expected. |

are that it is easy to deploy, runs on Windows NT,
has robust functionality, and is easy to customize."
As a weakness, he mentioned that "the names aren't
automatically sorted in alphabetical order" in
Cybozu Scheduler.
